After completing his master’s studies at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dr. Uysal earned a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Chicago, specializing in recombinant protein production, crystallography, and protein engineering. He then conducted six years of postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, focusing on synthetic antibodies and ion channels.

In 2014, after 12 years of education and research in the United States, Dr. Uysal returned to Turkey and founded LİVZYM Biotechnologies, a pioneering precision fermentation company focused on industrial enzyme production, alternative proteins, and bioprocess scale-up services. Under his leadership, LİVZYM has grown into a key player in industrial biotechnology, developing cutting-edge solutions for sustainable manufacturing.

Alongside his entrepreneurial efforts, Dr. Uysal helped establish a biotechnology institute, where he continues academic research on paratransgenesis applications for malaria, further contributing to global biotech innovation.

Serdar holds a degree in Business Administration from Bilkent University. He commenced his career in 1998 as an auditor at Arthur Andersen, subsequently continuing at Ernst & Young after the firms merged, serving until 2025. Following this, he joined Doğan TV Holding, a prominent media conglomerate in Turkey, as a Member of both the Executive Board and the Board of Directors. During his tenure, he held various senior executive positions, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), overseeing finance and legal affairs, and Chief Sales Officer (CSO), responsible for sales operations.

After twelve years of leadership experience in the media sector, Serdar joined Evyap Holding to head Business Development. During his role, Evyap invested in Livzym, leading to his appointment at Livzym as Vice President, responsible for Business Development and Sales.

Ugur holds a BSc in Economics from Middle East Technical University and an MSc in Finance from the University of Rochester Simon Business School. He began his career as an auditor at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey, where he worked for 11 years before serving as a Board Member at the Public Oversight, Accounting, and Auditing Standards Board for four years.

Following his tenure in public financial oversight, he transitioned into consulting, joining McKinsey & Company as a consultant, where he advised clients on strategy for four years. He later took on a leadership role as General Manager at various companies, overseeing operations, finance and strategy.

In 2021, he joined Livzym as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing extensive experience in financial oversight, corporate governance, and strategic consulting to the company.

Murat holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and is a senior manufacturing leader with over 22 years of experience in pharmaceutical API and aseptic manufacturing industries.

He began his career in 2002 at Novartis Technical Operations, where he advanced from Shift Leader to Production Unit Head, managing production teams to consistently achieve excellence in quality, productivity, and safety. Throughout his tenure, Murat successfully combined technical expertise with strategic leadership, resulting in significant operational impact.

In 2019, Murat joined Livzym, where he initially served as Production Manager and subsequently as Factory Manager. He currently holds the position of Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO), overseeing all manufacturing operations and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. His expertise includes aseptic production lines, upstream and downstream processing, and drying technologies.

Özgün earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from Boğaziçi University. He joined Livzym in 2018 as a Research and Development Engineer, playing a key role in fermentation optimization, process control, and scale-up during the company’s early stages. After overseeing the commissioning and technology transfer to Livzym’s manufacturing site succesfully, he moved to Berlin, Germany, where he worked as an Associate Scientist in the Microbial Process Development department at one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies. Four years later, he returned to Livzym Biotechnologies, where he now leads the process development team, overseeing both the laboratory and pilot facility while actively managing tech transfer and scale-up processes.

She joins Livzym as a strategic advisor following close to six years at the Good Food Institute (GFI), a leading global think tank advancing the alternative proteins industry. As GFI’s Director of International Engagement, Stephanie led the organization’s intergovernmental efforts to drive public and private investment in alternative proteins and promote best policy and regulatory practices for the industry. She has a proven track record of building strategic coalitions, securing private sector funding, and leading globally dispersed teams to achieve high-impact results. As a strategic advisor for Livzym, Stephanie focuses on developing international partnerships to advance the company’s alternative proteins business, driving innovation and growth in this critical sector.
